Tony Tacheny
God Loves a Crying Man

Mixing the contemplative folk elements of Bon Iver and Gregory Alan Isakov with the grunge rock aesthetic of the 90s, Songs from Tintern Abbey is a musical journey that flows from one moment to the next. The EP follows a story of a boy stuck hiding his sexuality dealing with the horrors and brutality of coming out in a city that does not accept him. Although it is a hard journey to get to, eventually love does win, joy is found, restoration and healing come from the ashes of a life all but gone.

This is the first EP from singer-songwriter Tony Tacheny with his debut single, New Years Day, dropping on January 1, 2025. Tony comes from a background of media, curating artwork, music videos, and overall artist brand for artists like The Chainsmokers, GRACEY, and We the Kingdom. With this history, Tony will be directing and producing all of the videos and visualizers for this EP. Starting with a campy video for New Years Day, then a two part LGBT short film for Atrophy and In the Abbey. (Similar to Girls like Girls by Hayley Kiyoko)

After the release of the three singles, the EP is looking like a May 30th release with a fourth music video for Youth and visualizers for Fetish and At the End. The visual component of this project is as important as the music to me. Tony's visual identity will be heavily influenced by his time in Alabama and his years living in a van. All black and whites and cigarettes. All dirt and glitter. All muscles and sensitivity. Shrouded in grain and darkness, waiting to be exposed.

Somewhere, crawling under the mud and mold of an old abbey, I will not have to tear it down limb by limb,  Here, in the tungsten streets and torn white sheets, I will break all my rules for you.

WHAT COMES AFTER TINTERN?

After the release of the EP, Tony will be performing some creative live sessions to be released visually and on streaming services. Fetish, In the Abbey, and At the End will receive (naked) versions. This acoustic switch will be similar to the next four song EP who's sonics will be closer to Zach Bryan and Adrienne Lenker.

The second EP should be coming out in late fall with just one single a few months before. There are also three fully mixed songs yet to be released.
